A Little Bit About Me...

I believe everyone should be provided an opportunity to learn. I have used a lot of manipulatives to teach math techniques and seen a positive result of this. I also believe in using research based strategies to lead each child to their potential.
I recieved my bachelor degree which helped my develop strategies to guide children with their reading comprehension as well as math skills. I have been a classroom teacher for three years. I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. As a teacher I use a hands-on approach to give the students a realistic approach to learning. All students can learn and as a teacher I feel it is my job to bring the best out of any child. As a graduate from Tennessee Tech University, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Elementary Education. My field experience during college (practicum assignments and student teaching) allowed me to work with a broad range of children – from kindergarten to fifth grade. During my time as a student teacher in a small private school setting, I also worked one-on-one with students who needed additional assistance in math. This is my second year teaching third grade in Clarksville, as well as my second year teaching in the Before School Program, which allows me to tutor 7-8 students each morning.
