A Little Bit About Me...

I have seven years of experience in teaching college algebra, calculus series and differential equations. I was a teaching assistant for five years when I was a graduate student at the University of Virginia. I have taught calculus I to III multiple times in my teaching career and have an excellent understanding of the subjects. I also have plenty of one-on-one experience helping students. For example, during my office hours, I explained difficult concepts and did extra examples on the blackboard to students who had difficulties understanding it the first time. When I taught at UMass-Amherst after graduated from UVA, I worked in the calculus tutoring center organized by the math department to provide students extra help.

I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. I believe that one should teach using a variety of methods because all kids do not learn the same way and each individual method shows something new each time. I believe that all kids can learn so much if they work as hard as they can and put forth maximum effort. I think it is very easy to learn/teach using as many hands on examples as possible.
