First and foremost, I love learning as well. Not only do I enjoy learning new subjects and ways to work with students, but I enjoy getting to know people and learning from them as well. One of my essential beliefs is respecting the learner and their particular learning style. I have recently graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Science and teacher certification degree. I student taught during the fall '09 semester. Student teaching provided many opportunities to work on various teaching techniques. The student teaching semester consisted of; leading the class in discussion on a daily basis, creating worksheets, conducting lab experiments and other activities, grading homework and tests, and much more. I created and taught four lessons during the observation semester. I have also been involved in teaching and tutoring a college chemistry class under the supervision of a college professor.

I enjoy teaching others and helping them excel in their studies. I can relate to younger students because I have a six year old who required extensive help in the area of reading. She was one of my greatest achievements because I had to research a way to communicate on her level of understanding and yet make it interesting and fun. Now instead reading being a weakness it is a strength for her because she has excelled and developed confidence in this area too. I have also helped other children children in the community and I have volunteered on a regular basis at my daughters school helping her classmates with their work.
