I find that each person has a different learing style and try to find out what works for them. I also teach them that organization of thoughts and ideas are helpful in how they approach learning. I relate the subject matter to what is needed to learn and to something that they can relate to. I believein repetition and that all people can learn if someone takes the time to find out their individual learning style. I very much enjoy teaching both children and young adults. It gives me great satisfaction in helping others achieve a higher level of knowledge and skills. In addition, I feel that tutoring is a two-way street, whereby both the student learns material from the tutor, while at the same time the tutor learns how to better present the material in a way that is conducive for the student's learning. As such I strive to create a teaching environment that is both welcoming, yet challenging. Lastly, when it comes to learning and teaching, I believe in perseverance. How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. That led to my doing teaching seminars, which led to consulting, which led to training, which led to my working with individuals as a life coach. I have been a CEO, Vice President, Consultant, Senior Broker, Artist, Photographer, Glass Blower, Jewelry Designer and writer, the job titles have changed over the years; the only consistent has been that teaching has always been a part of my working life.
