I am a graduate of Chico State with a BS in Computer Science and I was a student of their honors program. I was not a formal tutor, but I spent a lot of time with junior classmates helping them to understand their projects and meet their deadlines. After graduating, I worked as an instructor at Mendocino College. I taught computer science classes to young adults from different backgrounds and with different learning styles. I worked as an Instructional Aide at Charter Academy of the Redwoods. I worked with middle and high school students throughout the day and tutored individual students on occasion.

I worked for over 2 years as a study session leader for various engineering courses while getting my B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I also tutored several students in engineering classes at the college level. I have experience working with elementary through high school students as well.
I have a passion for helping people, and nothing satifies me more than helping a person understand a concept and succeed in his or her class. I teach using a lot of examples and incorporating the concepts into the example problems so that the student can see how the examples are based on the concepts. I strive to know the students well so they don't just see me as a tutor but also as a friend who is easily approachable with questions.

I have a love of learning and understanding that extends to math and science. This gives me an enthusiasm for my subjects that my students have said makes me a more engaging and enjoyable teacher.
