My comments on tutoring HTML : I learned HTML when I was 14 years old. I was one of the first people in the state to host a site in 1994. I know everything there is to know about HTML.

There is a saying, "between the teacher and the taught becomes the teaching". The institutions of higher education are changing rapidly, and I am equally excited about the opportunity to learn from my students and the fresh new perspective they bring. I'm a very social and easy to talk to. I'm interested in genuine learning and real human relation. Using the topic of software as platform, there's plenty to explore together!
I've been a web developer for over 20 years. I've seen the entire industry evolve in real-time with my own career path. I'm currently working full-time as a principle software engineer for a SaaS company in town. I've built many teams, architected and helped produce many enterprise level systems. For the last two years I have enjoyed working at the Brigham Young University -Hawaii Reading Writing Center as a tutor and center manager. My passion has been to help others learn and gain a better understanding of the world around them. At BYUH, my area of expertise was in English reading and writing, techniques, style, improvement, grammar and overall understanding of the English language. I believe everything needs to be broken down into pieces. It makes tackling larger problems a lot easier. First, I start with definitions/terminology. This is a necessity to begin learning other concepts with any subject. Second, any rules, equations, procedures or the "how to" come into play. The learn how to use the definitions or formulas they learned. Third, examples are necessary. Thought provoking ones which allow the students to follow a clear path of logic to understanding important concepts.
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science. This helped me out also in math, since the requirements for the degree required many math classes, including 3 calculus classes.
