A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BS in Electrical Engineering in December. I was one of two who graduated under the Honor's Program and maintained a 3.72 GPA. I've been tutoring math ever since my second semester in college and even while I was in high school. I've taken Calculus 3, differential equations, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics and received an A in each of them. I have a great deal of experience along with a sound background in mathematics.
When it comes to math, there is always more than one way to attack the problem at hand and each method appeals to different students. I usually start off with one and I can quickly tell if another would be more effective for each individual since I've noticed everyone has different styles of learning. When I taught a math class at Weber State, my students would ask me why other teachers wouldn't just 'say' things so simply like I did. It felt very good to be so complimented, and it was exciting to see them understand those math concepts for the first time. I'm also told I have a lot of patience. I appreciate that as well, and believe that is important.
When I was attending Weber State University I tutored students in mathematics, and later on I actually had the opportunity to teach a math class there. I have found that so many students don't have a belief in themselves with math and they need to know that their teacher believes they can do it. I go through each concept and make sure my students understand how to do it before moving on to the next concept.
