Math and Business Tutor

I have worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Pennsylvania for several years. I have also tutored math and reading for middle and high school entrance exams in the past, including the HSPT and SSAT. I use the Socratic Method. That is, I ask students to explain the material back to me. This enables me to determine their level of understanding. For reading specifically, I teach students how to read critically for the main points in a book or passage while skimming over extraneous details. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Substituted in Multiple Social Studies Classes

I prefer a Lecture Based Style utilizing visuals such as detailed maps, art depiction of historical moments, as well as videos of First-Hand Accounts of what occurred during discussions involving modern times.

Every child can learn, just not in the same way!

I am an Elementary school teacher for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and hold my teaching certificate for Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12. Prior to being a teacher, I have worked for an outreach program, working one to one with Autistic and Down Syndrome students. I have taught every subject in elementary education and continue teaching every summer by working for my districts summer school program.
