A Little Bit About Me...

I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring than most. I believe I'm an effective tutor because I remember the exact same difficulties and questions I had as a student and can relate to their frustration. Most people as well as myself are visual learners thus I teach by working several examples and gradually increasing the difficulty at a pace set by the student. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students since my undergraduate years. I continue to give back to community through many projects. The sorority I am apart of hold many tutoring sessions to students. Also through my church we hold tutoring sessions. I have been involved in both projects for more than 5 years. I have tutored in English, elementary grade Math and Science.
I absolutely love working with children. Through my current job now I am responsible for ensuring children receive quality child care. I honestly believe all children can learn. I am committed to making sure children in my path have the opportunity to learn. I constantly think out of the box because with the change in time you have to. My goal in life is to each every child. My teaching style is adaptive. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn. The approach to learning is what makes the difference. Being a mother, I love children and am very patient. I also know that kids have their own distinct personalities and I address each child as an individual person, with their own talents and ideas. There is nothing better than when a person's face lights up, young or old, when they "get it." Knowing you have impacted a person, potentially for the rest of their life, is a reward in and of itself. The pay that comes attached to it is the bonus.
Since graduating with my Chemistry degree in 1997, I have volunteered off and on within the classroom, mentoring and tutoring children of all ages.
