My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : I took Honors Pre-Calculus in eleventh grade and received an A+ for my hard work. Performing so well in this course allowed me to skip AP Calculus AB and move straight onto AP Calculus BC the following year. These concepts were again used in AP Calculus BC, so I know them very well and can explain them effectively.

Teaching new concepts, practice applying the new material, review, and more practice of the material to solidify the concepts.
I have helped my classmates and have had one official student as of this summer. However, I have learned how to explain concepts so that students dont just memorize, they will gain a thought process and applicable knowledge that will enable them to solve even the most complex problems. Having this mentality of preparation and success will being them to reach their goals.

A Little Bit About Me...

Ever since I volunteered at Guilderland High School where I helped children with homework, I love teaching and being around with children. Once you put the effort into their learning and be there with them one step at a time until they finally understand the concept and/or get the answer, it is an amazing feeling.
I recently graduated from Syracuse University. I majored in finance and marketing management with a minor in information technology. In my finance courses, I have gained extensive knowledge in different areas of math. Apart from my academic studies, I joined clubs where I held leadership positions which allowed me build team building and leadership skills. My teaching style is replete with visuals and drawing an analogy from nature to help understand abstract concepts of science. I obtained a B.S. in engineering from Webb Institute in 1968, entered the U.S. Coast Guard and thereafter obtained a JD in Law from SUNY, Buffalo. I tutored underclassmen in calculus while at Webb and taught seventh and eighth grade math and science in a small catholic school, part time, while in law school. Following law school I was a prosecutor for six years after which I became a hearing officer for NYS OCFS. I retired from state service about one year ago, at age sixty-two.
