As an assistant teacher, I earned my AA in Elementary Education/ Early Childhood. I continued my education on and received my BA in Social Science in 2009 from Ashford University. I have learned how to teach a student through my experience in working with students. I enjoy working with children. I know all children can learn in one way. I was team leader in AmeriCorps. As I held the leadership position in AmeriCorps, I know I have the patience to help each and every child to succeed.

I'm a recent graduate of Rust College. During my years at college I tutored in subjects as biology, basic math, college algebra,English literature, and also was a co-judge for a local junior high science fair. During the summer of 2009, I did my internship with the Ronald E. McNair program at the University of Mississippi. This program focused mainly on research based studies with a chosen graduate professor. I'm an assertive motivator. Learning should not be repulsive, children love to learn by examples that they can relate to. I find the opportunity to combine the likes and dislikes of the student and mold them into a constructive solution. Using metaphors and similes are more of my specialties. The style is strict, but the concepts are easier. When the task is completed, the student will say I was tough but with a caring aftereffect.

I'm very much driven to excel in high levels of education. I have earned my bachelor degree, BS in General Studies, and currently working on my masters degree, MBA in Public Administration. I have many skills that includes typing, office work, math, term papers, and some Spanish. With the last ten years I have tutored family members and friends because I thrive to see others succeed and plan to open my own tutoring center once my degree are complete. I have been a teacher for the past five years. I have taught Language Arts and History. For the past two years I have taught 7th and 8th grade, but I have also taught 9th and 5th grade. Outside of my career, I have tutored my own children, currently ages 11 and 9.I have also been an Intervention Coach and tutor. I excell at individual and small group tutoring. I have much experience in math, science, and english with my past two degrees. I have tutored students in math, english, and science. I love to work with children who are eager to learn. I know that for most children having to study is not their top priority, so I try to make it fun. I am patient, and know that learning often takes repetition. I believe that most children have the power to learn, some just need some one on one attention.
