I am currently a PhD student in Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland. I have both my B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. In addition, I have several years of experience as a teaching assistant at Bucknell. I also have several years of experience with computer science, programming for a government laboratory.
I like to try and figure out how a student goes about understanding different topics. Often times teachers teach right from the textbook, but this can be confusing and students can be left behind because they learn differently. I know from experience that lectures don't always help and that another approach can be best.

My teaching style is to lecture with examples while students are following the process and understanding what needs to be done and how. Then myself and the students do the hands on together so they can either do the exercise from memory or follow my directions. Once the exercise is complete, I give them time to do it themselves. I repeat the materials at the end of each section and the end of each chapter and encourage asking questions. Training can be delivered in person for 1 student or a group. My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, as acquired from the PC Specialist program of the Technical Learning Centers. I have received a Technical Diploma with a 4.0 GPA in this program.

As a student in technical logical philosophy, I soon became very interested in advanced mathematics. Once I had acquired sufficient knowledge of advanced mathematics I began tutoring mathematics in 2003.
