PhD in Neuroscience, awarded in 1981 from University of California, School of Medicine, San Francisco. 30 years postdoctoral and Research Faculty appointments, research emphasis cellular and molecular neuroscience. Teaching in neuroscience courses to undergraduates, graduate students, medical students.
I have an unusual gift for explaining difficult concepts clearly. I like to bring up background (perhaps including chemistry or physics) to help understanding. I strive to help a student truly understand a concept and reason it out for themselves.

This really depends on the subject, however, I like to do drills to keep basic skills sharp, and to learn new skills. Each student is different, and will need slightly adjusted methodology. I'm also very open to suggestion.
I am a few years out of high school, and I've taken several college classes. My AP knowledge spans almost every subject. I can help with almost all high school level classes and below. The various sciences are probably my best subjects, however my knowledge of Biology is fairly limited. I have tutored a few High School Freshman before in a program called "Senior Mentoring" I have also helped out a few family friends to get the grade to graduate.

I chose to home school my own children in all subjects for grades 1-12. They are now both honor students at there respective universities.
