I spent the last three years obtaining my MS in organic chemistry. Of this time, I spent two years teaching and helping undergraduate students with chemistry and biology. I spent one semester teaching general chemistry classes and an additional semester teaching an organic chemistry lab section. In addition to my experience teaching chemistry, my undergraduate degree in biochemistry and my experience working in an agronomy genetics lab has given me a good understanding of genetics and cellular biology.

A Little Bit About Me...

Every child wants to learn, although a more creative design may be needed to find a child's greatest potential. Patience, consideration, and encouraging words are simple tasks to help the self esteem of children in a child's education.
With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school". The youngest, my brother, in which we are both diagnosed with ADHD, is amazing. I quickly learned to be patient with him when helping with his homework because I can see the same frustration on his face I had at his age when trying to concentrate on a difficult task.

I am a very patient and considerate person which I believe aids in helping all types of students. I try to help the students find their own success without spelling everything out for them. I believe that I can make even the smallest difference in a student's educational pathway.
I am a recent graduate from Kent State University and have a combination of two very different subject areas. I have earned a BS in Biology (Molecular Concentration) and a Minor in Spanish. I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best. I think this type of relationship allows me to push the students to their maximum limit without discouraging them when we're having a difficult session.
I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.
