A Little Bit About Me...

Since my graduation from Southeaster Oklahoma State University I substituted on all grade levels from pre-k to 12th grade for 2 years. I long-term substituted first grade from January to May of 2008 and 5th grade from April to May of 2007. I also taught 5th grade Science for the school year of 2008-2009. Substituting has enabled me to see the different learning styles and behaviors of many different types of children. I use this knowledge whenever stepping into unfamiliar classes and use it to my advantage.
I believe all children have their own pace and develop their own learning styles in which they are able to comprehend the knowledge that is being taught to them. I enjoy working with children and being able to help them grow into well rounded adults. I am very patient and understanding. I enjoy a very interactive learning approach. I tend to use hands on and visual learning techniques. I am patient and children are my joy to work with. It does not matter how long it takes one to learn, everyone is capable. I desire to set up a fun and disciplined learning environment for the students best success.
During the attainment of my undergraduate degree, I conducted research under my professor, Dr. Greg Powell. Throughout the research, I gathered many skills one being creative in learning, as well as, presenting new material and teaching it to fellow peers and professors.
