I have been a reserve teacher for the last five years in the Dayton public School system. I teacher basic education from grade k-12, but my best subject is k-3 and I am getting my certify license in early childhood education at Central State. I just got done with my student teaching and that was very educational for me because it was just about what I was already doing in teaching but it let me know that I was doing what I had learning in school. I also worked with preschooler so I know what they can do at their age level.
my teaching style is what the children need to know about that lesson, and how can I help them get what they need to be successful in school. 2 years ago when I quit teaching Spanish I thought I did not want to teach again, but when I was called upon to do a semester long subbing stint in a high school Emotionally Disturbed unit, all my original feelings for teaching came back. I have tutored students individually at school, but a tutor needs to start somewhere or will never get experience. I have always helped fellow students with homework by explicitly explaining answers when they are asked or at least triggering their minds to what they need to learn. I am anxious to teach middle school aged kids as it will be a fun experience and I have always thought about teaching kids, because we all need to have the opportunity to an education.
I do not have a specific style of teaching for each student. Each student has their different way of learning. I would start out trying several ways, such as; visual, hearing, physical etc and see what the student is most comfortable with and which one is most likely to educate the child in a way that the student will remember the information while struggling the least.
