Calculus I is one of my top subjects! Calculus 1 is very simple if it is explained in sufficient detail and the proper terminology is used to describe the basic underlying principles of calculus. This is the course that I tutor the most at college.

I like students to understand how the material they are learning can and is being applied to everyday situations. So I often will talk about the big topics that have been covered explain why they are useful and then show the student how to perform various calculations or apply the nessecary logic to solve problems.

I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from Geometry through Calculus III, from general computer knowledge through utilizing the advanced functions of Microsoft Access. Calculus I is one of my top subjects! I took the AP Calculus BC exam in tenth grade and received fives on both the main portion of the exam and the AB subsection. I have taken Calculus III (multivariable calculus) at UNCC and received an A in the class. I have also done extensive extracurricular studying of calculus.

I gained my first tutoring experience by explaining difficult concepts to classmates that were struggling. I have been a tutor on WyzAnt for about half a year now. I have tutored math and physics students both at the high school and college level. All of the students that I worked with rated my lessons positively.
From my tutoring experience I have noticed that most students who have trouble understanding a difficult concept do so because they did not understand a more basic prerequisite concept, so I try to help students "fill in the gaps." I generally teach through visual aids and through very thorough explanations. If the student doesn't understand the first time I explain something, I will explain it in a different way and will keep explaining it in different ways until he/she fully understands what's being taught.
