I recently obtained my Masters in Secondary English Education. I currently substitute teach at the high school level, and have taught literacy to adults with developmental disabilities. I have a Bachelor of Art in History, predominantly American. I also pursued Engineering for my first year and plan to go back to College. I have completed through Calculus II and am also experienced in hands-on mechanical. I have limited tutoring experience, but I know I can listen and respond. Any experience came from helping others in classes during College.
I'm patient and listen to the student to see what they get and don't get about the premise of the lesson. Then we get to it. Careful reinforcement of the Correct method will ensure Remembrance and Results. Also, Lessons must be approached within the context of the Big Picture. Students need to realize that there are no pointless or forgettable sections. Basically, communication is key followed by practice, reinforcement, more practice. Learning can be at pace, but laziness and whining will not be tolerated.

With my degree in communications I am very confident in my ability to explain clearly, ideas and lessons. My career has been in sales and design of educational interiors. This role of 20 years has drawn from and strengthened my writing and oral skills. I have four kids ages 8mo, 5, 7, 14. We home school our 14 year old. I am also very involved in our 7 year old's schoolwork and homework.
