I am highly passionate about ensuring that concepts I teach are well understood. I use a lot of analogies when I teach. I have 25 years experience in building predictive models, using statistics and methods from Artificial Intelligence. I have taught statics at George Mason University and Data Mining at MUM. Many of my models have been deployed to the commercial marketplace. I specialize in combining quantitative skills with knowledge of behavioral data.

Tutoring is one of my favorite jobs. I really enjoy helping students understand that they absolutely can understand a subject, and the one-on-one, focused nature of tutoring fits my personality very well. I am encouraging and very patient, but no pushover: I realize that the best way for a student to remember a concept is to play an active role in figuring it out. That is why my teaching style involves asking a lot of questions. I provide explanation when needed, but I make students fill in a lot of the gaps themselves. That way, they gain a deeper understanding of the material, and they will be able to remember it much longer. I first started tutoring in high school, both privately and as a volunteer. My favorite subjects to tutor were Algebra and Calculus, though I also tutored Spanish, English, and Biology. I had several regular students and additional students during peak time
