I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. I not only want to teach them how to properly concur their learning material but how to find the information they need if they do not know the answer. My Godmother has been the Director for tutoring services for FCAT for many years so I’ve shadowed her majority of my life. While in high school I tutored her elementary students after school in basic algebra and science. We also tutored middle school students on Saturdays getting them prepared for FCAT.
