My teaching philosophy is to get students to think about science as a process, and to individualize their learning experiences. I prompt them to “why” and “how” questions at every stage.
Progressing through graduate school and working as a undergraduate student demonstrator allowed me to define learning as a personal process of growth. I have noticed a couple things in my years tutoring people in math. I have noticed that many people have trouble with the fundamental concepts of fractions, decimals, order of operations, and adding/subtracting positive and negative numbers. If a student does not have these concepts together much of the 'higher level' mathematics can seem a blur and highly confusing. I have also noticed that students like real world or relevant examples when learning a new math concept.
