A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is as varied as the students I have taught. I feel it is important to relate to the student in order to help them learn best. When there are different learning styles, I do my best to use a variety of teaching techniques in order to cater to the need of the student. I feel that follow up is important, as well as repetition and hands-on practice. I am not a lecturer. I find my best students learn one on one or in a small group where they can be comfortable and ask questions. With children, I have a similar approach as learning, for a child, can be very intimidating, and they have already had enough trouble in school, so patience and kindness is a best practice.

Previous students have often remarked on my practical teaching style, relying on real world examples and explanations for business and mathematics. The only way to remember information long term is to relate it to something tangible, especially in subjects like statistics and economics.
