I have a passion for teaching others and spreading my knowledge- I enjoy not only helping a student to understand, but to also become a mentor. I have been tutoring since middle school, and throughout high school. Since I have been in college, I have been eager to tutor again. My knowledge is mostly in high school and college biology, anatomy, and physiology. I taught 4th grade for 5 years in the Rock Hill School District from 1991-1996. After I completed my Master's degree, I worked for 3 years as an Elementary Guidance counselor. I enjoyed both experiences and missed the field once I was out of it. In 1999, my husband took a job in California and I did not continue teaching. I have had a variety of work experiences since then but still have the ability and desire to help children learn.

When helping students learn and understand material I believe it is important to first gain the student's trust, so they will not resist receiving help. I am a recent college graduate and find that it is easier to relate to, communicate with, and gain the trust of students, since I was in their position not long ago.
