I am a dedicated professional who is passionate about helping students achieve academic success. This past year, I spent time as an SES Lead Tutor after school and in-home and tutored (Reading - phonics based - and Math) many children in grades K through 7th that held IEPs. I believe that each child learns at their own Pace and if they are tested, the gaps in their education will appear. Once these gaps are addressed, they can move forward with their peers. You must find out what works for each student and use that method to make learning fun. I believe in step-by-step hands on with a lot of practice. When I first attended college I studied elementary education. I put my education on hold to stay at home and raise my children. During that time I was a compulsive volunteer with different support groups within the school system. I decided to complete my education as my children got older and received my bachelors degree and continued to take classes so that I am now able to sit for my CPA and I have also completed the necessary undergraduate requirement in order to teach business classes. I have also been a long term substitute teach in working with special education students.
Every child can learn and children learn at different levels. A teaching style must change to meet the needs of the child because what may work for one child may not work for another.
