Lisa S. - Warner Robins, GA 31088 (24.2 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $25.00/hr.
I am a high school senior in the AP/Honors program at Warner Robins High School. I have two little sisters who I have tutored since they began school. On average, they have scored higher on tests when I have helped, particularly in the area of social studies. I have also helped multiple students at my school. The average that they score on a test is typically ten points higher than when they study by themselves and, in some cases, twenty points if the student does not study at all. The results are typically better in social studies, the subject which I am most proficient in, but all subjects tend to shoe significant improvement. I am hands on. I personally learn best from things like powerpoints and handouts. This is also the way I tend to teach others.

Lentrell H - Warner Robins, GA 31088 (24.1 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $36.00/hr.
I enjoy tutoring. I obtain gratification through helping students to grasp concepts that seem vague or out of reach. I always keep a professional relationship with people. I like to make people feel welcome to ask questions. It is important to respond to students in a manner that encourages them to ask questions. I also ask questions to obtain feedback on how to approach problems, build problem solving skills, and resolve issues that limit their understanding of subject matter. My ultimate goal is to build a students character so that s/he will have the confidence to strive in reaching for higher education. While I was in high school, I tutored all subjects in math except Calculus. In college, I tutored students in Calculus, general engineering courses, and I was an assigned mentor to three students. I have earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Materials Science Engin

Roger S - Warner Robins, GA 31088 (24.8 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $34.00/hr.
I have been driven to excel in college and in my career in logistics. I've graduated from two of the top universities in the US, and retired from the USAF as a Major. I'm also a graduate of Air War College. I've traveled the world as an instructor navigator and defense contractor, learning about many cultures and religions. In addition to Spanish, I also speak Turkish. I also owned my own logistics services business, winning a contract with the USAF. My technique in teaching navigation was to expose the student to the underlying physics of dead reaconing and celestial object movement. Then we would put the theory into practice in the air. I strove to always give positive feedback and encouragement.

Shekita M - Macon, GA 31204 (36 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $32.50/hr.
Tutoring has taught me that perseverance and patience are the keys to tackling tough situations, and I try to pass that along to others. I am very versatile when it comes to teaching various age groups. I try to keep my sessions exciting, but focused and instructional. I teach to each to the unique style of the individual student and when instructing a medium to large group, I adjust to the majority learning style;moreover,"no student is left behind." It is my belief that I do not truly master subjects until I can teach it to others. Thus, I view tutoring as an essential component of the learning process. With respect to my tenure as a tutor in the community of Tuskegee, Alabama and on-campus,this has certainly been the case. From helping to ease students of their confusion in the laboratory, to leading review sessions in front of spacious lecture halls, my experiences as a tutor have au

Rashida S - Fort Valley, GA 31030 (38.8 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $39.00/hr.
With my collegiate experience, I have taught as a ESL assistant at school; helped special needs college students through reading and producing Books-on-Tape; and served as an ESL tutor for Inlingua. Indeed I have developed and perfected my communication and writing skills from writing research papers, laboratory reports, essays and public presentations of my work. Teaching is my passion and I highly enjoying working and educating others. I believe that teaching should be implemented with enthusiasm, love, passion and innovation. A child should be given the best learning environment that will facilitate exploration, independence and growth. Thus the child will develop a natural desire and motivation to learn with and without the presence of a teacher. My teaching style is that of a facilitator and demonstrator.

Jennifer O - Forsyth, GA 31029 (53.5 mi) - Trigonometry Tutor - $41.50/hr.
I had excelled in calculus during my freshman year of college, and I was recommended by my teachers to become a supplemental instruction (SI) tutor. I tutored students in calculus for the remaining 3 years of my undergraduate studies with SI. I was supported through a teaching assistantship (TA) during my graduate studies where I taught introductory geology lab. TAs were given a general guideline of what to teach, but not necessarily materials to use. I developed course and testing materials that I and other incoming TAs used as well. I also tutored student-athletes in calculus and geology throughout my graduate career. This past year I worked with Cobb County Schools as an AVID tutor where I assisted high school students in all subjects. I greatly enjoy working with students to help them to understand subjects they are struggling with. I usually can find new ways to describe scie
