I have taught on the secondary high school level for 36yrs.My various teaching assignments included the following: Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Sports Medicine, Health, Physical Education, CPR & AED Training. I have also coached on the same level the following sports at one time or another: Football, Wrestling, Track, Baseball, Golf, and Softball; as well as being a certified official in wrestling and softball. I have also participated in a numerous amount of "inservice" experiences. I enjoy watching students learn and to see them grow in knowledge and their ability to solve various challenges as they mature. i try to set an example for the students to emulate by letting them know I was at their age at one time, and that I needed help along the way as well.

As an undergraduate I tutored in the help center of WVSU. My last semester I had to choose between Biology and Chemistry, due to a schedule conflict, and I chose Chemistry. After graduating, I worked toward my PhD at Montana State University for two years. I worked my way through teaching labs, and completed 19 credit hours, before I had to move home for family reasons. I also worked in the help center during the day and held weekly study groups in the evenings. I believe that there are no boring subjects, only boring teachers. I teach so others may learn to find interest. My heart races when I help someone learn. We are always learning, and I will always be a student. I am able to relate to people on that level, regardless of subject level. No one is born knowing this stuff, we learn through life. To teach is to learn. It must be nice to teach to teach. This is my goal.

As a child, I entered the gifted program very young and have always tutored my peers. Tutoring led me to join the Quiz Bowl and other Academic Teams as well as led me to graduate high school early. I have tutored everything from Accounting to Chemistry to Mathematics to Finance to Anatomy/Physiology. I have recently earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and have tutored many students over the past five years in Cost Accounting, Finance, Governmental Accounting, Auditing, Banking, Marketing, and Management at the college level. I am a very patient person who understands that the best way to teach someone anything is to find out how they learn. I love children of all ages. I am very patient and laid back. I am kind, and considerate of others. My goal would be to help the child learn and understand, while making the experience a fun and rewarding one. I believe everyone has the ability to do whatever they strive for. I had a teacher in my youth that made such a huge impact in my life, and I have always wanted to repay that favor to other children. I strongly believe that one good teacher can make all the difference in a child's academic career. I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in everything I do. As a college student, I tutored many of my friends and peers for free. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things.
