I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. I love to share my knowledge and share my skills with others in a way to help them learn and grow. The way that I do this is by: 1) evaluate the child's skills, 2) acknowledge the child's skills and build his/her confidence as a stepping stone for future learning, 3) work to add to the current skills by adding to them.
