I am a qualified Ortan-Gillingham tutor and have recently finished classes leading for my reading endorsment. I also have a Masters in Arts in Special Education, mild-moderate, K-12. I support the Orton-Gillingham philosophy where learning to read is a multisensory process that is systematic and cumulative. I graduated from one of the top ranked schools in the nation for education, Miami University (Ohio). I earned my bachelor's degree there. I have been teaching children that have learning disabilities for ten years. I also have worked with children that have severe emotional problems. I will be graduating from Grand Canyon University in December with my master's degree in special education. For the past few years I have been tutoring an eighth grader in grammar and poetry. I love helping children learn new things. I get so excited when I see the "light bulb" go off. I love to find different ways to teach children to learn old things.
