My comments on tutoring Microsoft Access : I am certified in Microsoft Access 2007.

I attended Brewbaker Technology Magnet high school with a concentration in Information Technology. Then immediately after graduating high school I worked as a Web Developer for Performance Support Inc. for 4 years while in college. I started my own business called Computer Wiz & Associates in 2008, in which I offer computer repair and web development services. While in college, I held the position of Website Content Manager for the University's SGA, and was awarded Executive Staff of the Year for my contributions to the student government association's website. After graduating college with a degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in International Business, I worked for the Alabama Department of Transportation for 1.5 years as an ASP.NET/C# Web Programmer. I currently work as a .NET/C# Developer in Birmingham, AL. I am a Microsoft Office Specialist and develop websites for bu ... read more

Microsoft Access is one of my top subjects! I have used Microsoft Access since 1997 in my various analyst jobs. Additionally I hold an engineering degree. Currently I am developing software tools for departments in my company to consolidate and streamline processes. I can teach basic database structure in Access all the way to developing forms and reports for users to input and extract data efficiently while managing data integrity for more robust information.

Patient while asking questions to confirm understanding. I teach complex things so I do not mind repeating the lesson several times to ensure the student learns with understanding. I have taught coworkers on numerous occasions and really enjoy the experience of sharing my knowledge. I always find I learn something too!

Have fun learning and reach for excellence!

My personal style of learning is to learn by doing. I get my students involved in any process and get them to actually do the work so they learn it from experience, not just reading about it and taking for granted they know what is going on. Seeing the steps in action and seeing the final result brings a sense of accomplishment, which helps a student learn the correct way of doing whatever it is they are trying to learn.
I have lead many training sessions dealing with a multitude of different topics. I do my homework, and make sure I am fully prepared before any training session. I want to make sure I know the answers to any possible question before the questions are asked. I have tutored students one-on-one and in small groups from different levels of math to every aspect of English, grammar, and writing. I have taught many classes in painting and drawing, and I am a constan ... read more

I enjoy working, teaching, and mentoring children. I have learned to adjust to the different learning styles of children, which makes it easier for the child to feel more comfortable with learning. In order to work with children there has to be a great amount of patience and concern. I have learned patience through working with children from all walks of life and I have come to appreciate each child's story. I belive that reaching out to those in need will not only help someone else to meet their full potential but for the teacher also. I believe in making a difference in other's life because others have helped shaped me into who I am today.
As a recent graduate, I have learned the importance of education. I have earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Not only do I contain a strong understanding in those subjects but took several classes in oth ... read more

I break down subjects to the most basic level and build from there. This is the way all of my football coaches did things each year, they taught football stance at the beginning of August no matter the player's experience. Some students find this condescending but it usually progresses fast enough to reach their skill level without offending. I have always found that starting at the bottom prevents misunderstanding as you build toward the top. I enjoy teaching because it helps to sharpen my skills and also enjoy watching other students perform well. There is no greater reward than watching the light come on in a pupil's mind.
I worked in accounting for one year as accounts receivable manager for one of the fastest growing companies in Mississippi. I also performed all accounting tasks for my own business for 3 years. I then went back to school in 2008 and finished my accounting de ... read more

I truly enjoy teaching and working with children. Every individual learns differently and I feel the key to teaching children is determining that learning style. Through the correct teaching style, encouragement, and patience, each child can excel in any given area. It is very rewarding to watch them succeed.
Education has always been a very important part of my life. After earning my BS in Accounting I have continued my education in pursuit of my CPA. During my college career, I tutored student athletes in accounting, finance, and mathematics.
