A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed both the humanities and sciences. At Virginia Tech, I majored in Philosophy and Minored in Statistics and Business. Since graduation, I have worked primarily in an engineering setting performing statistical analysis and other tasks typically performed by a test & validation engineer. Next fall I am starting a masters program at Northeastern University for Industrial Engineering. I have substitute taught for the Hopkinton Public School system and the Auburn Public School system. I enjoy teaching students of all ages.
I feel that I excel in putting myself in the student's shoes. By trying to understand their thought process, I can best teach by making sure the student follows the logic of the subject. I have always believed that allowing the student to reach understandings through subtle guidance by the teacher is the best process. This method allows stu ... read more

My teaching style is to review the fundamentals. If I find deficiencies, I address these first. I then introduce the subject core using applications that the student can relate to. I get students to participate in solving problems by working through the steps in turn. I keep track of student preparation for accreditation by giving home work assignments. ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has being a part of my life because I love to help people understand things and from my college days we usually organize a class where we tutor our classmates on subjects they still had difficulty understanding. I understand that we all have different speed at processing information, and that is why I volunteered for one year to teach high schooler. I love to teaching Economics, Mathematics and Accounting (Business related field). I have academic transcripts record from my Bsc. Business admin. and MBA in accounting to back my skill and understanding in this field.
I love teaching children but I am excellent at teaching high school juniors, seniors and college students. With normal class size groups... the goal is to provide a lesson with real educational content but to deliver it in a totally entertaining format... usually organizing the students into groups to a) provide support for the challenged and b) excitement for the total class as each group competes against the others. one-on-one teaching requires that the objective(s) be well established and then carefully focus on the individual student's best learning method, be it: verbal, written, reading, hands-on, or all of the above. In general a good teacher will be well planned and offers a delivery which teaches in concentrated bursts, with a brief break every 20 minutes.
