I am a college student who has been at the top of my class since I was in the sixth grade. I have taken the highest level of classes that has needed to be taken. I am a logical thinker and I am willing to solve anything that I come across. When I was in middle school, I attended a book competition, where I had to read several books and then answer various questions about them. When I was in high school I attended many math competition, and I was also enrolled in FBLA. I am now in college where I am taking criminal justice classes to further my career in law. After college, I did some private consulting, helping people write admissions essays and prepare for the ACT and other standardized tests. I've also worked as a Google Answers Researcher and as a grants adviser to nonprofit foundations.

So I used my business mindset to give my young clients(students) stories that were of interest to them and I made sure that the stories were easy reading and I gradually got the kids to read "at grade level". A Little Bit About Me...

Depending upon the prescribed materials used by the school or tutoring company, I have a student centered approach to teaching. I find which approach motivates an individual student; listening, reading, writing, speaking and ensure that that method is incorporated in to my lessons. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had an interest in English, writing, and Communications. I have tutored students in both English, reading, and writing. In my undergraduate program I earned a BA in English and spent time working as a writer and Sports Editor for my college newspaper, worked as an intern at a newspaper, and worked in Public Relations as Communications Manager for a nonprofit organization.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I am an engineering student, I have always been interested and excelled in math and science, so I have tutored many kids in all areas of science and mathematics. I have also tutored in Spanish and French. Last year, I worked with a young man who had dyslexia. I have helped kids of all ages, whether at the elementary, high school, or collegiate level.
I am a very patient person, a trait which I believe is very beneficial for a tutor to possess. I am always patient when teaching, and in doing so have succeeded in getting my point across. I like to pass on small tricks and acronyms that I have came up with for many things, some of which I have still retained to this day for my own personal use, not just for school work.
