My comments on tutoring Spanish : I enjoy watching students excel in their abilities while meeting their goals in Spanish.

I get to know the students strengths and weaknesses, and I work diligently to improve on any area of weakness they may have. The student and I work toward achieving goals. The goals can be getting better grades in grammar, speaking, vocabulary, and or writing. I take the curriculum and make it easy for the student to understand.
This is my second career. I taught Spanish for 9 years, then retired. However, I continue to teach. I home school and do private tutoring Mondays - Thursdays in Brentwood TN. and do some private tutoring after school. I was born in Puerto Rico and spent summers there on and off for 35 years. I lived and studied in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico where I attended La Universidad de Filosofía y Letras.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : Spanish teaching experience in all levels and all ages. Business spanish for individuals or groups.

Learning a language is not complete if you do not get hints of the culture that created it. My classes are very participative, open and flexible (within the curriculum discussed). And Spanish has such an amazing cultural background that makes the task easy!! Idioms loaded with historic references, that only make sense if History is explained, geography, food.... I cannot imagine a better way of learning Spanish than cooking a "Spanish Omelette" (as far as the recipe and process is in Spanish).

I would love to teach you!

I am currently a medical assistant and I tutor or babysit for extra cash since I want to go back to school. I use to help tutor and do community hours. Currently I don't have a student to teach because I took a break but I am ready to go back to it again. I love teaching and finding ways for my students to know. I am a native speaker and do not have degree on teaching. For Spanish it is very important to speak the language a lot since the more you speak the better you are at comprehending the writing aspect. I came to the U.S not being able to speak English so I can usually relate to beginners. I usually babysit and parents pay me extra for including a bit of tutoring and teaching activities. A Little Bit About Me...

As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Most recently, I have volunteered with Youth Encouragement services as a tutor.
Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
