I began as a Program Manager, but also have experience as the Director of Education. My job duties included giving students Diagnostic Assessments, updating each student notebook, tutoring math, reading and writing in the evenings, attending ongoing trainings, contributing to teacher trainings, and meeting with both parents and teachers at schools. Teaching is my passion. I strongly believe that every moment is a teaching moment, whether or not it is intended to be. I feel that my job as a tutor and as a teacher is to bring out the knowledge within. I understand that every learner is different and for this reason I begin with an assessment of each student. I then try to use their learning habits as a start for future lessons. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for teaching all ages. I am patient, caring and understanding. My goal is to do whatever I can to get the answers children/adults need. As an Academic All-American and SUNY Chancellor Award winner, I've always valued education. I tutored writing and englisg-related topics in college. I also was a state certified hunter safety instructor for two years. I spent 8 years teaching life and social skills to developmentally disabled adults and even was able to get one to craft his own poetry,which we both found very rewarding.
I believe the best teaching involves personal attention to that in which the student's interests lie. Helping a student to see how a topic can have impact on his life will make the course relevent and help engage the youngster. I also believe in encouragement at each step and making a "big deal" about each success. I see myself as a mentor who wants the next generation to be better than my generation - pay it forward.
