A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of one of the top state schools in New York, I have always believed in the importance of education. I have a BA in art studio, 2 years of biology/chemistry, and Calculus I&II, which has given me a well rounded education. I have also developed a higher level of writing skills through my research papers and laboratory write-ups. My latin classes have given me a better understanding of vocabulary and the derivatives of different languages from latin. A Little Bit About Me...

As an infectious disease researcher, I have applied skills obtained since high school. My chemistry and biology skills were necessary to make bases, induce parasite inoculations, and process my data by ELISAs, DNA Extractions, Chromatography, Crystallography, and PCRs. My grammatical skills were essential for laboratory proposals, reports, and presentations. I have tutored high schools students in many areas of need, as a PEPP tutor, but have concentrated on biology, chemistry, and math.

A Little Bit About Me...

In college, I tutored kids K-5 on primarily their reading skills. However, I also asked them if they needed any help with any other subject and what material was covered. From this I would put together study outlines from their notes and textbook. This allowed me to know ahead of time what should be emphasized. Also, when teaching a biology field to a more mature individual, I find that reading up on the material actually emphasizes my passion for the field. There also have been times I have made up mnemonics for certain biology topics, whether it is a rhyme, story, or parody of a song. I find that it makes learning the material easier and more enjoyable. My friends always have enjoyed them as the mnemonics always can create a laugh.
