My teaching style consists of finding that unique style that will suit each individual student. Growing up, I noticed that it was very hard for certain students to grasp certain concepts because they were not engaged in the teaching method. It is no secret that everyone learns a certain way, and no two ways are ever the same. I believe that my patience, my calm demeanor, and habit of wanting to make learning something fun rather than a job has certainly helped me in my education. A Little Bit About Me...

Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. While I was raised in old-school education, I believe that some of the newer techniques of education through hands-on, the use of digital technology, and through writing across the curriculum are effective for many students.
I have two bachelor degrees, one in computer science, the other in mathematics with a type 09 cert (6-12). I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills. I have taught and tutored in mathematics and computer science for quite awhile, and I earned a 95% on my PSAT and a 32 on my ACT.

I love to see people grasping the simplest approach. I begin with an overview of what, exactly, is the goal and why we are doing it. I feel step by step methods, with easy to remember techniques, are best to achieving the final result. "Hands on" is definitely the approach, once the goal and methods have been established. As an Electrical Engineer, I am very capable in all areas of Math and Science.
