My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : I have student teaching experience in the elementary school setting.

I studied Elementary Education during my undergraduate. During this time, I was a student teacher on several different occasions. I assisted the home room teacher and independently planned and taught lessons to the students. I have worked with grades 1 to 5 as a student teacher. I enjoyed teaching and was a very passionate teacher, but I realized that work as a social worker would allow me to help my students on a more personal level. During my work as a social worker, I worked with clients in the school and home setting. I educated teachers and school staff regarding my client's mental illnesses, and I developed classroom strategies to help my clients thrive in the classroom. As a recent Purdue University graduate, I have had the opportunity to learn about the most current and effective teaching strategies. I have worked with students who range in ability, from children who are highly-abled to children with special needs. My previous experience includes being a babysitter, camp counselor, daycare provider, Sunday School teacher, mentor, tutor, teaching assistant, and I have had multiple classroom experiences through my Purdue courses.
