My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : I love Shakespeare and I enjoy helping students understand his artistry of language and use of symbolism.

I am a certified teacher. I have taught for 11 years and have taught first through eighth grades. I enjoy teaching reading and writing to everyone. I have had some training in specialized reading training from the Wilson Academy and I am currently earning my certification for teaching students with reading difficulties. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching philosophy is that, as educators, we must "teach the whole person". Even though I am a language arts teacher, I try to instill goals and values into my students by completing a variety of acitivities. I love hands-on teaching and allowing my students to have fun while learning. Being a visual learner myself, it's extremely important to utilize the technology that is all around us that our students love so much.
Because of my love for literature, I decided to engage in the teaching profession. I earned my BA at Salisbury University and immediately was offered a job teaching high school English. While teaching, my love for reading and writing continued to grow and influced me to pursue a masters degree in Reading Specialization. I currently teach 6th grade language arts and am spreading my love of reading, writing, and grammar to each class that I teach.

The past 8 years I have worked for the Montgomery County and Frederick County school systems as a substitute teacher in middle and high schools.. An area of extensive experience was with the special needs students at both Linganore and Walkersville High schools. I taught a class in self-esteem skills for the SUCCESS program for Frederick County. I had a fair amount of experience with the ESOL program in Montgomery County in 2007.
