I graduated May 2013 from Fredonia with a Bachelors degree in Childhood Education. My concentration is in English. I spent a year of professional development in the Hamburg school district where I had student teaching placements in first, second, and fifth grade. I enjoy working with and teaching all levels of students and children. No two children learn in the same way. It is important to differentiate and identify the way that each child needs to be taught and engaged in the lesson. Lessons must be concrete and meaningful to a child. I believe that different teaching styles help different students. A method of both lecture and active learning can be effective for the widest range of students. This allows the students to get a brief introduction to the day’s material before they work in groups on questions about the material.
