My comments on tutoring Study Skills : Having been immersed in a rigorous college program for the past three years, I have learned to study well in all subjects.

I was homeschooled at a higher academic standard than public schools. As a current senior at Pensacola Christian College, I have recieved a steller education in English, as well as Bible and Biblical Greek. The usefullness of understanding Biblical Greek and being able to study the Bible in its original languages cannot be overemphasized. This is where I would like to spend my tutoring time, although I will be willing to help in basic English, Writing, or Reading.
The most effective teaching takes place whent he teacher presents the information clearly and then gives the student ample opportunity to put it into practice, with the teacher watching and assisting.

My comments on tutoring Study Skills : I have found students need some time management skills, graphic organizers and knowledge of learning preferences to increase his/her comprehension of any subject.

I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. In all these fields I find similar necessary skills: patience, co-operation among staff and colleagues, knowledge of subject matter, communication with the community and parents and a well defined curriculum. My comments on tutoring Study Skills : As a professor I have taught and mentored students in these areas.

Though my primary field is sociology, I am versed in Liberal Arts due to my experience and background. Not all students are sociology majors and thus, not all students respond to a sociological manner of thinking. By presenting primary documents, government documents and other sources, I am able to draw out the contributions of a variety of students.
