Art and Graphic Design Tutor!

I like to lead by example, actually do the piece with the student (whether it is graphic design or traditional art). Creating Art is a visual action and must not only be orally taught. I will walk my students though techniques and then allow them to create a piece unique to their own creativity but incorporating the technique originally taught. I also like to add in the history behind the art. In formal educational institutions the history of the art is also taught and I personally think it gave me a better understanding of techniques and appreciation for other artists and graphic designers.
I have a BFA in Graphic Design from OSU. I am proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Dreamweaver. My comments on tutoring Drawing : Currently a middle school art teacher

I'm an experienced graphic artist. I graduated from OSU in 2006 and still design for several clients. I was the only in-house graphic designer for America's Incredible Pizza Company. The operations office was located here in Tulsa; it closed in 2010 but continued to work for the company from home. I also held a position with Bullseye Database Marketing which designs primarily bank letters and stationary. The work from both companies was widely contrasted, so I feel that I have a wide range of experience in the design world. Very familiar with the printing process and how that system works after you've designed a piece. Very helpful to know before you start designing a piece so that you can keep production in mind. A Little Bit About Me...

While in an administrative position at Bethel College I earned both my Bachelor degree and my Masters in Education, both focusing on Administration. Both those degrees further helped in my teaching style when I was called upon to teach Freshman Orientation, Social Dance, and become the Director of a summer youth program for two years that involved daily lessons. I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University. I have worked with children in a professional setting since 2004 in church, non profit, daycare, early childhood, and preschool settings. I value education and find it to be a crucial and vital part of child development. I have tutored autistic students, as well as taught preschool for 14 months both at Saint Dunstans Preschool and Holland Hall College Preparatory School.
I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome.
