A Little Bit About Me...

In college, I was a Math Tutor in all the requisite courses and calculus. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Math and BS in Mechanical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. I have taught adult students in mathematics, mechanical assembly, and job skills.

While in Statesboro, ga completing my studies I served as an after school tutor for elementary students in the Bulluch County after school program. I recently graduated from Sanford Brown Institute in Atlanta, GA where I earned a degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology. Teaching, in some form, has been a part of my life for the last 20 years. During that time I discovered for myself that students learn in different ways. Since I've been tutoring I've helped around 50 students individually and have developed different teaching styles to suit different students. I am aware that each person learns material in a different manner so the teaching style must be adapted to suit their individual needs. In conclusion, I think that I can still be successful in teaching. I however, need to find what area that I can be most successful at. I think that with my non-traditional training and experience, that a similar position would give me the opportunity to be most successful. One thing that I have thought a great deal about these past few weeks, is that I am entering middle age and must be a success at something.
