A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in creativity. As an elementary school art teacher I have lots of experience working with kids. I am also familiar with Greensboro having graduated from Guilford College. I have tutoring experience. In my current position I tutor a 4th grade group twice a week. In college I was the director of an after school tutoring program called CAT kids which assisted students with homework and did creative projects with them to help them academically, encourage creativity and provide support. Other skills I bring to the table include organizational skills, computer proficiency, and a personable and professional attitude. I believe that first and foremost, teachers should inspire students to not only live up to their own potential, but to exceed their expectations and realize that they can meet and surpass any goal they set for themselves. I encourage students to take risks, knowing that I am behind them being fully supportive. My teaching style varies depending on what student I am teaching. I enjoy tailoring lessons to the specific child. Being able to do this is, in my opinion, one of the biggest advantages of working in a one-on-one setting.
