Coming from a smaller school, I understand the importance of one on one communication and teaching. Throughout middle and high school I tutored many of my classmates and friends, and continued to do so with whoever needed help during my college career at Ozarka. After taking Writing courses at UCA, I began to see how that one on one quality becomes lost in a larger school, so I began offering help to whoever appeared to need it. My writing classes have strengthened my grammar and vocabulary skills, and I have taken a Teaching Creative Writing class, all helping me to understand the value of good communication and how to apply it.

A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. I have a strong background in all science courses and maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout college.
I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I believe all students are capable of learning the material; it just has to be presented in a way they understand.

I love watching children's eyes light up from learning and this is what I strive for with every teaching moment. I know that children become discouraged when they do not acquire the skills other students seem to master almost immediately. I know that parents become equally discouraged when they want their child to succeed but do not know how to help them do so.
