I began working in the school setting in February, 2002. Initially I worked as a teacher's aide in the special education (K-5) classroom environment. Shortly after, I began to tutor after-school hours for one of the special needs students. The "parent network" took off and soon I was tutoring five students per week. In 2004, I returned to school for my masters/teacher credential program. Upon graduation, I worked for two years as a program director at a before-and-after school program and two years as a creative movement/dance instructor in the Vancouver School District.
My teaching style is to help make student's successful by understanding their learning style. I have had the good fortune of working with myriad learning styles in a special needs environment, (in the home and classroom) which runs from autistic spectrum disorder to talented and gifted. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with children. I love English. I love seeing the expression in the eye of a student who finally understands the concepts. I know what it is like to struggle and get frustrated. In Jr high I was tutored in English and math. Once I understood the concepts there was no stopping me. I would love to help your student the way someone helped me once. I am a patient, kind and loving mother. I believe English is the corner stone of education, and the key to future success. Many times a loving teacher, who takes the time necessary, is all a student needs to succeed.
