A Little Bit About Me...

We are a team of experienced teachers and tutors each specializing in our own subject strengths. We provide excellent customer service, possibly immediate or same day for homework help or project completion. Online tutoring is also available with a shared online whiteboard for step-by-step problem solving. We strive to get to the root of the problem be it a test-taking challenge or a problem with foundational concepts. Not very fond of your teacher? Unfortunately, this is often the case. We follow your own pace of learning to achieve results. We love the moment when a student finally understands a topic and starts building self-confidence. We can then use this to change the way a student thinks about a subject resulting in continual improvement and achievement. Biology is one of my top subjects!

Learning biology comes naturally for me and it has stuck with me because of the numerous times I have repeated the same material over and over again when I have taught fellow classmates and other students. Teaching is a natural gift I have and I enjoy passing along my knowledge to those committed to learn.
I tend to teach directly, straight to the point, but also make it fun. I like to ask the student questions to make sure they understand. I also teach in a philosophical way. I try teaching the student in a way to think logically about the material to make better decisions when it comes to test time.

Everyone is a genius when given the right tools

I have been working with students as a private tutor for over seven years, and have become addicted! There are a million ways to explain a problem and a million different points of views to understand it. I have an enormous amount of patience when explaining solutions and comprehending a student’s true understanding. Hands-on learning is my philosophy as I believe that studying should be done through creation. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with those who are in need of my assistance!

My comments on tutoring Biology : 5 on AP Biology test.

Tutored many students during high school and I am currently a 1st year Chemical Engineering student at University of California, Berkeley. In high school, I tutored AP Chemistry, many levels of math, and many other science courses often. I also worked with younger students in middle school on many of the general subjects.
I prefer one on one tutoring so I can adjust how I tutor to each students needs, but I have also done group tutoring before. All in all, I personally want to work in whatever environment will help the student learn most effectively.

I try to match my teaching style to the learning style of the student.
Worked at BriteMinds Learning Center and Kumon Learning Center as a teacher for 2 years total. At BriteMinds, I tutored all subjects and all ages, but my strength is as a math and science teacher. Also have been private tutoring for 3 years. Currently a Chemical Engineering student. I attended UC Berkeley for a year before leaving due to increased tuition costs. I am currently attending El Camino College and am transferring in Fall of 2014.

I have tutor elementary students since I started college back in 2009. I use to go to three different schools during my spare time to go help the teachers. I noticed that I really like it and therefore I decided to tutor High School students for a year. I never did got the opportunity to tutor Middle School students, but I have a brother who attends middle school and whenever he needs help I tend to help him. I want to become a teacher when I grow up because I am patient, responsible, and I love spending time with kids. To be honest I do not see myself doing anything else, but teach. I am always looking for possible ways to tutor even when looking for a job. I have had more great experience than bad when it comes to tutoring and I know I can make more memorable memories while doing something I really enjoy.

Making science understandible

Tutored freshman biology for 2 years. With time and a motivated student I have seen my students bring grades from D after a midterm to B by the end of the semester. I try to help my students better understand biology rather than just ask them to memorize. Genetics for 1 year. the secret to this class is practice and that is a lot of what I will do during our sessions is go over problems so you feel comfortable with the material.
Like to meet one a week for an hour or two to review things learned in class and meet 3 days before exam for 2 to 3 hours to make sure student is ready and confident.
