My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : Certified IL Teacher

I like to teach the student, which means I tailor lessons/activities and supplemental materials to the student. The goal is to see where the student, where the student needs to be, and find the road that will merge the two in the most beneficial way for the student.
As a certified teacher, I have several hundred hours in a classroom with field experience and student teaching. I am familiar with state and Common Core standards, classroom lingo, and classroom/school procedures. I have a very unique way of teaching. My key to success works on a system of discipline and rewards. I find creative ways to make the most mundane tasks fun to accomplish. I think the number on rule in teaching strategy should be finding a way to make the process enjoyable. Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them.
