I started tutoring students middle and high school prior to graduating college. I have taught part-time college students at various institutions since 1996. I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. Throughout high school I was a teacher's assistant helping with students in class during my study halls as well as working one on one with students for extra study skills. Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I loved teaching since my first teaching experience in 1974 that iinvolved working as a long-term substitute at the Omega School in Madison, Wisconsin. The Omega School, an alternative hiigh school that occupied a few rooms in an an old office buiilding, helped high risk students who couldn't fit into a regular high school environment obtain their GED. Some students were gifted but unable to adjust to the regimens of regular high school. Others stole cars or acted out in other ways. My next teachiing experience was in 1975 as a teaching assistant at the University of California, Irvine. T.A.'s taught their own classes and were responsible for lectures, grading, assignments. A Little Bit About Me...

I have done student teaching at the high school level in Math, specifically, Geometry and Trigonometry. I created innovative new ways to use the materials on hand to reawaken students' natural mathematical curiosity and to exemplify the concepts of the courses. I have done one semester of long term substitute work in which I taught underprivileged children Physics and Physical Science. As a high school freshman I began to tutor elementary school students based on the needs highlighted by their teachers.
