A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently in my last semester of my Masters program at St. John’s University and will have my New York State Initial certification in K-6 by May 2011.As a student teacher in the first and fourth grade classrooms, I have been able to utilize and build upon the courses taken as part of my education. I was able to design and implement my own lesson plans, as well as modify to meet the needs of all students. From this experience I have been able to further develop instruction for both groups and individuals in reading and math. Prior to my student teaching I was a teaching assistant in a preschool for students with disabilities.

From my teaching experiences, I have learned that I enjoy educating, as well as learning from, students of various ages. From my courses and classroom experiences, I have learned that each student may benefit from various types of learning such as visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and/or a combination of learning styles.
