A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. I find that when teaching something new or difficult, it is best to find a way it relates to each individual. Once you discover this, you can make it fun and relavent for them.
As a graduate of a Health Science program at a competitive public university, Clemson University, I showed an understanding of many science disciplines. In the course of earning my BS in Health Sciences with a Concentration in Pre-Professional Health Studies, I became well versed in biology as well as chemistry. I have also demonstrated a passion for education as I wish to continue my own education in a masters program. I ... read more

As a liberal arts college graduate, I was educated in multiple subjects, with a focus on the importance of integrating curriculum. I have earned two bachelor degrees, one in Visual Arts and the other in English with Academic Honors. Being an English major, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing and editing four years worth of literary and expository research papers. I have experience tutoring students from elementary to college levels in English and literature, music, visual arts, mathematics, social studies, and history. I pick up tutoring in new subjects quickly and easily.
I love working with all age groups. I have three younger siblings that I have helped tutor through all levels of their educations. I have also tutored on a college level while in attendance at Presbyterian College. I am very patient, easy-going, and considerate. I emphasize the personal nat ... read more

I believe everyone has a gift from God. My gift is working with children, it brings joy and peace to my heart.I have a passion for working with children who really can not help themselves because they are either lost, not motivated, or scared.I just want to be an inspiration in their lives.
I am very patient and humble young lady. No child is the same as another, so therefore; they are unique in their very own way. I believe that every child can succeed, but they just need to be instructed in the right direction. I can provide that direction because I will be their compass to the world of understanding, knowledge, and discovery. Learning should be fun and exciting, but not tedious and boring. My students will be outgoing and will be the future lawyers, doctors, firefighters, and the best teachers.

I feel that I am very much a hands-on learner, but I also enjoy engaging the minds of those that I educate. I enjoy researching new and more relevant ways to teach the applicable generation under my watch. Also, I feel that learning occurs outside of the classroom/main learning environment, and that as a mentor/teacher, I am able to pass on various types of lessons. My current place of study models this truth for me; by opening up their lives to their students. This shows them that life is a series of lessons; one that must be taken just as seriously. When engaged in a teaching opportunity, I attempt to be pleasant, passionate, and humorous. Above all, I desire those listening to enjoy the privilege it is to learn.
I've always known that I wanted to work with children and adolescents. Prior to college, I was chosen to enroll in a course that helps those desiring to work in educatio ... read more

This instruction emphasizes hands-on activities for success in vocabulary, grammar, dictation, and Internet. I also have workplace experience involving Work Core curriculum as well as Palmetto Youth Connections. These both included resume writing, career assessments, role play, and life skills with emphasis in training youth for workplace readiness.
