I am currently a freshman in college who is double majoring in Computer Science and Math. I've done the occasional work of helping students with their homework. I have been a Teacher's Assistant for a teacher who taught BC Calculus and IB Math HL. Every so often I would teach lessons for teachers and help classes review for tests. My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. There are often roadblocks to learning such as personal hangups or self doubt that must be addressed. Other times it is just a matter of understanding what the person does or does not get.

I believe that anyone can learn any subject if you give them the proper tools. Setting goals and meeting them is only part of the battle, Knowing what when wrong and how to fix it is the other half. Living with an LD gives me an appreciation of the time it can take to learn; and that not everyone can learn in the same way.
